We have made it through another week. (according to the Gregorian Calendar) How much time did you spend taking a moment just for you ? Did you sit in stillness, doing nothing and take time to bring awareness to your presence for at least 5 minutes ?
We need to reconnect to ourselves or the fear becomes so much we avoid taking time for quiet. I also find, if its possible, that listening to gentle meditative music can calm the body without focusing on the sound. As I am writing this Friday blog, I am listening to meditative music in the background. It doesn't have to be music, it can be the sounds of a rain forest, birds, thunderstorms, Koshi Chimes, whatever connects with you.
Our mind is an amazingly complex and beautiful thing...when we give it positive things to focus on. I know how difficult this is for empaths, Highly Sensitive People, and people who have issues with mental health. When we take 5 minutes a day to decompress, breathe, sit in quiet and shut off the world, we become more mindful of our needs.
The way the world is today we really need to make an effort to find moments that help us to recenter, ground & balance. Get in touch with your feelings and gauge where you are and how you feel so you can look forward to your tomorrows. Most of all know that you are not alone. You are loved, appreciated and guided, don't let the world pull you in to the chaos. Stop watching the news, T.V. or media related things...unplug, do things that bring you joy or make you feel at peace. The world will be there when we return...even for just 5 minutes
